Shinsode Course Clubhouse

External appearance of the clubhouse surrounded by thick coniferous trees

The famous Sodegaura Golf Club in Chiba Prefecture consists of two sister courses, the Sodegaura Course and the Shinsode Course. Recently due to the dilapidation of the Shinsode Clubhouse, it was rebuilt. In rebuilding the Shinsode Clubhouse, consideration was made to giving it a difference to the profound Sodegaura Course so that members could enjoy two different club lives, while at the same time keeping in mind that female players would be increasing in the future. Therefore the building was given simple and lucid functions in a design with a light feeling.

Open lobby connecting the entrance area with the 2nd floor restaurant

The rebuilding was carried out while the old clubhouse was still being used, so the layout was designed keeping in mind the position of the building and redoing the car park. The building, surrounded by a flat course and thick coniferous trees which mark history, consists of a concrete foundation platform, a glass curtain wall, and a curved roof protruding out the top, in a gentle shape which blends into the surrounding nature.
When you enter the entrance area, you are led to an open lobby, which connects to the starting terrace and the 2nd floor restaurant. With this continuation, the golfers who come here are led naturally to the fields.
