Kawasaki Municipal Hospital

The reconstruction of Kawasaki Municipal Hospital was planned as part of the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the opening of the hospital with the basic concept of improving the hospital's functions and environment while still operating as a hospital. The structural frame, which was designed to enable streamlining of the reconstruction on one quarter of the site and support future functional changes, consisted of four Hercules posts and megatrussing to support high-rise hospital wings that protruded out 28.5 meters on the northern and southern sides. The structure and the way it was built made the building unique. The exterior structural frame was covered with aluminum panels, giving the building a strong design. A state-of-the-art general conveyor system was installed for management of materials inside the hospital, enabling smooth management.

Toyota Medical Corporation Kariya General Hospital East Branch

This clinic was designed to be a convalescent hospital for chronically ill patients, and the aim was to construct a space with a high level of convalescent amenities. A plane of individual-type, multiple-bed rooms with light wells installed between the rooms was used, and lighting and the airflow can be controlled by the side of the bed on the corridor side. Large single sliding windows that allow plenty of sunshine and air to come in were installed on the outside. These windows, the pentroofs and the light wells give the exterior a deeply chiseled expression. Outside, a rich variety of trees and plants were arranged, an artificial hill and pathways were built, all designed to make a peaceful and soothing environment.

Inoda Coffee Main Shop

The old "Inoda Coffee Main Shop" in Kyoto, which has been patronized by authors such as Junichiro Tanizaki, movie makers and other fans burned down in April last year, so it had to be almost completely rebuilt, and reopened during spring this year.
While retaining the Kyoto-style atmosphere of the original shop such as the red shell grating exterior, inner garden and brick arch alleyway, a coffee room, special room and a memorial room for memorabilia dating back to the founding of the shop were newly added. Even though a reinforced concrete structure has been used in the construction of the shop for fire-prevention reasons, cryptomeria board mould concrete, GRC paneling and stainless steel grating have been used to give the shop back its original old-style Kyoto appearance.
