The Chuo Mitsui Trust and Banking Company, Limited

Construction of this building was begun to integrate the head office functions of Chuo Trust & Banking Co., Ltd., and was completed after the company merged with Mitsui Trust & Banking Co., Ltd. due to the restructuring of the financial industry. The exterior of the building is a simple vertical grid form made up of stone and glass. The shape of the building is curved making it fitting for the head office of a bank, and giving it a unique appearance. The interior is made up of atriums with ceilings, opened up every second floor to create a space conducive to communication, and to realize the concept of an interactive office. |

NTT DoCoMo Chugoku-Yamaguchi Building

An office building also containing an NTT DoCoMo showroom has been completed in Yamaguchi City, often referred to as the "western Kyoto." This building, with a 50-meter steel antenna tower has been designed with curves, protruding parts and hollows to give a soft impression and to be unobtrusive. Efforts were made to make the building gentle on the earth, such as installing a "blow-from-below highly-efficient year-long-use air conditioner," and solar panels on the curtain walls to generate electricity. |

Gunma Sports Complex Gumma Budokan

Located on the side of Tone River, and surrounded by the Joshu Miyama mountains, construction of Gumma Budokan, a main project in the Gumma Prefecture Sports Center has been completed. The semigabled large roof gives the building an impressive atmosphere befitting a martial arts facility, and the facade, designed like Mount Fuji, blends into the surrounding nature and mountains. The main dojo, or gym, has fixed seating for 2,000 people, and can be used for judo, kendo and other activities. |

Toyota Automatic Loom Works, Ltd. Kyowa Factory Canteen

On the southern side of Nagoya, in one of the famous industrial towns, Obu City, a cafeteria able to seat over 1,000 people has been built at one of the plants. On the western side, which adjoins the main road, the exterior walls have a double-skin of corrugated glass and glass with film, to insulate eyesight and control the heat load, while allowing as much natural light in as possible. The interior is an atrium-style, and while separating the first and second floors, it has been designed to unify the cafeteria, to allow it to function as a space for the employees to rest up. |

Rimanitto Mortery Head Office

Construction of the new head office of Rimanitto Mortery, a company that is selling secondhand buses, has been completed in Okayama City, a city known for Bizen ware. To meet the client's requirements to make the building suitable for meeting and greeting clients from both within Japan and from overseas, and to create a building gentle on people and with a dream, efforts were made to use wood, tiles, straw and other Japanese materials. By making the building simple, with specific materials and colors, a hybrid structure composed of American pinewood and black steel has been used to give the place richness and peace of mind. |
