The Harimaya Honten Asago Villa was constructed between valleys in the mountains of central Hyogo Prefecture, in an area where there is no power or running water, with the
aim of realizing natural beauty, architectural beauty and Japanese garden beauty. While making the most of the knowledge of our predecessors in the design stage with regard to materials
and methods, the company sought to create modern Japanese architecture with the theme of the relationship between beauty and nature, without being restricted to the contemporary ideas of
Japanese architecture. Time was spent searching for the most beautiful protrusion length and height of the eaves, with the aim of escaping from the standardized proportions for splitting
wood for a first in modern times. Also, the changes in the horizontal movement of the eye view and levels with the meandering approach through the undulating site give colorful
expression to the architecture. As much as possible, heat insulation and ceiling materials that are required in modern architecture were kept out, materials that could allow the roofing
with shingles and Japanese cypress bark and earthen walls to breathe were used, and traditional methods were used for the joints and connections to maintain tradition. An in-house power
generator and communications satellite have been installed so that no interruption is caused to the daily lives of modern people without harming the environment.
