ACTY SHIODOME (La Tour SHIODOME 45-56F)
|
||
![]() Acty Shiodome, Japan's tallest concrete condos |
This building is located at the southern edge of the Shiodome
area where many large construction projects are underway, and is the tallest
reinforced concrete condominium building in Japan at 56 floors and reaching
190.25 meters. The "Yurikamome" train passes by the western and southern
areas of the site, the Shuto Expressway runs by the east, and the Yokosuka
Line shield runs underground in the center. The building uses wide sashes
and bathrooms with large windows to enable good views, and has been planned
to meet the needs of various lifestyles in the future for comfortable
inner-city living. Development was made of superhigh-strength and advanced
fire resistant concrete to withstand the heavy load of a superhigh-rise
building, and the work was carried out while observing any displacement
in the Yokusuka Line shield. A sliding, vertical curing-unit scaffold
was built around the aboveground frame for the two-layer tact process,
and various other high-level new technologies were developed for the work. |

| KUZUHA TOWER CITY | ||
![]() Kuzuha Tower City, redevelopment project near a station |
This is a condominium building that is the core of a redevelopment
project aimed at making high-level use of the location and creating an
attractive town in the area around Kuzuha Station, which is an important
point along the Keihan Electric Railway Line. By using the dispersed layout
of the buildings centering on a slender silhouette superhigh-rise building
with twin towers, all the units face the south. By using the overall planning
system some open public space was created, and greening has been done
to the rooftop of the underground car park giving plenty of open space.
The project has many outstanding features such as high level of safety
by using base-isolation construction, and by using a skeleton-infill housing
system, flexibility has been given to future changes in the plans. Because
of the 45-degree-angle design of the base and the upper floors which allows
a reduction in the feeling of oppression and all the units to face south,
the sunlight changes the expression of the building at different times
during the day, which make it a symbolic and original landmark. |

BUREAU SHINAGAWA
|
||
![]() Bureau Shinagawa sited on canal |
This is a high-rise condominium adjacent to Shinagawa Station,
where the Tokaido Shinkansen stops. This project was designed to meet
the residential needs of businessmen in this area, which has seen a rapid
increase in office buildings as a result of the redevelopment work being
done, as well as to meet the government policy of giving support to permanent
residents in this area as the living environment changes in the future.
By using the overall planning system, this condominium was built to form
a sense of unity with pedestrian walks along the waterways and the open
public spaces, giving a sense of closeness to the "surrounding water,"
as often there is a sense of remoteness to these water areas in city life.
The building was designed to have a sense of moderation so that it would
be difficult to work out the use of the building from its exterior, so
it has an uncomplicated shape and sense of objectivity, and with the keyword
of "continuity," it has a simple exterior unseen before in condominium
buildings. Lights in the balconies shine over the windows lighting up
the building designed to make the building look beautiful at night. |
