Kyoto fumin kyosai building

This is an office building on Gojo-dori Avenue in Kyoto. Tiles with a rooftop tile color befitting Kyoto are used for the exterior, and the design motif has an emphasis on the horizontal lines. The design, with small and large eaves with glass screens at the front and back, creates a deep relief, creating an expression of harmony with the city. The standard floor ceiling height is three meters, and the column-free space of 18 by 19 meters allows free room planning. Energy conservation measures have been planned, such as the use of Low-E glass, the core being installed in the western side, and the intermediate eaves designed to reflect sunlight and softly provide light inside the rooms, realizing a bright, comfortable office space.

TOD'S Omotesando Building

This building is the flagship store and base for the full-scale entry into the Japanese market of the Italian TOD'S brand. The concrete structure frame, an abstraction of the Zelkova trees, which are the symbol of Omotesando, gives the expression of a unique material feeling and strength. All 270 glass openings incrusted into the RC are different shapes, and have been installed flush with the interior and exterior finished surfaces without using sashes. In order to construct the special-shaped exterior wall with good productivity and accuracy, prior verification was made using a mockup, and various special methods and procedures were used.

Nagoya Toho Building

This project involved the rebuilding of a movie theater, "Meiho Kaikan," much-loved for many years, into a twin building (offices and hotel). The office tower has large, open windows for letting in plenty of sunlight, and the large standard floors with high ceilings can be partitioned into small units for renting. The building also has earthquake-resistance, and security equipment. The theme for the hotel tower was "the realization of a high-quality everyday," and an unwearying, sophisticated space has been created. The two towers have been designed with a sense of unification and harmony, both function-wise and exterior appearance-wise.
