The Educational Center for Clinical Pharmacy is situated on the skirts of Mount Rokko, overlooking Osaka Bay.
| Situated on the skirts of Mount Rokko, this building has been constructed for lectures and practical work to meet the requirements of the new curriculum set by Kobe Pharmaceutical University, a single-department university. Since establishment in 1930, this university has been focused on advanced education and social independence of girls. However, because of changes in social conditions, the university became coeducational in 1994. Also, in line with government guidelines, the faculty of pharmaceutical sciences was changed from a 4-year to a 6-year course in 2006, requiring educational facilities for a more specialized educational curriculum. The newly-constructed Educational Center for Clinical Pharmacy is composed of various classrooms, including computer training rooms, multifunctional pharmaceutical laboratories, and a simulated pharmacy. It is the most cutting-edge facility of its type in western Japan able to handle computer-based testing (CBT) for common achievement and Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE) for long-term practical internships and common achievement testing. |

The facility has been constructed on the highest site on the campus, and terraces have been designed to make the most of the spectacular location overlooking Osaka Bay. The courtyard between the new building and an existing building has been consciously designed to be a place where students and teachers can intermingle, and people can interact with nature. With four window chimneys installed on the roof, a natural ventilation system is being used, making the most of gravity ventilation depending on differences in temperature. With such measures, this new building has been designed to be friendly on the environment.
