Fujita Academy − Continuing Education Training Center Building No. 1
This university facility was planned ahead of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Fujita Academy. As well as having regular medical university lecture rooms, the building also has practical rooms designed for new medical education, such as practical clinical training and medical procedure training. In addition, the building contains a memorial hall, as well as the functions for the corporate headquarters. Small eaves and environmentally-friendly sashes with natural ventilation devices attached have been installed on the exterior to reduce the heat load. With a light touch to the balance and rhythm between the openings and the exterior walls, the aim of the design was for harmony with the existing building, as well as the image of being advanced and open.

Nagasaki Takarazuka Building (Richmond Hotel Nagasaki Shianbashi)
This high-class business hotel is located on Shianbashi Avenue in Nagasaki. In order to excite the emotions of travelers, the concept of the hotel was “exotic modern,” and the exotic tones of Nagasaki were used in the design. With the exterior, work was carried out to design earthquake-resistant slits. Brick tiles have been used for the building frame, and plaster (photocatalytic paint) has been used on the walls. This composition has resulted in a stately and well-defined design. With a lobby space in the image of the living room of a western manor and furniture designs with originality, the interior was designed to create enchantment.

Duplex Ginza Tower 5/13
This project called for the construction of a commercial building on a corner, as the landmark of the entrance of the client into the Ginza district. The brand called “DUPLEX” (as in dialog) and “dual” as in travelling in both directions have been realized as the two walls gently intersect. The corner where the building is standing has been designed as an open space where people can see what is happening in the town. LEDs have been used at the open side and the brand design has been attached to the roof, to create attractive night scenery, as well as expressing the corporate identity (CI). In order to secure the maximum amount of space in each floor, CFT columns and NSC beams have been used, designed to minimize the structural section.

Medical Center Medium Machiya
This clinic mall is located in downtown Tokyo, in an area with a miscellaneous make-up, unchanged since olden times. In order to reactivate the area, the mall has been designed to have the feeling of high quality and a high brand image, with an exterior which is suitable as a base for rebuilding the cityscape and with an interior space separated from the surrounding environment. By integrating the architecture, structure and equipment, a system was constructed which would allow easy maintenance and change of tenants in the future. Takenaka was realized this project by giving careful and total support, including the planning, establishment of the medical corporation, the operation and aftercare.

Renaissance Plaza Fukushima
This project entailed the construction of a building complex containing a hotel specialized for accommodation and a parking tower in front of Fukushima station. The management philosophy of the client was “a beautifully-designed building integrating tradition and intelligence.” In order to realize this philosophy, advantage was taken of the site conditions such as being surrounded by a town square and roads, and clean-cut facades were constructed facing each direction, thereby creating a beautiful and stately building contributing to the improvement of the city landscape. To join the different uses of the hotel and parking tower, the exterior appearance has a vertical line design with vertically long windows and molded sheet louvers, and the horizontal borders penetrating the east to west side to unify the building. The interior was designed with a simple and smart base tone, and with furniture made from natural materials placed throughout, while expressing the feeling of newness, a comfortable space where people can relax has been created.

Poole Gakuin Junior & Senior High Schools
This project called for the complete rebuilding of this girls' school, which has a history of 120 years. With the exterior appearance, in consideration of the Vories architecture of the old school building, while reflecting Spanish styles in the architecture, a new presence matching the present day was created. Several parts such as the rose windows, lighting fixtures and hand railings have been reused in the chapel, and from the overall atmosphere to even the finest points, there is an expression of continuation of past memories to the present, and to the future. Also, as an educational effect, the opportunity was taken to use the school building itself as an educational tool to learn about the environment, by using environmental-friendly technologies and constructing a biotope. By progressively carrying out the construction on this small site over two and a half years, “using the building during construction” was realized without the need to construct a temporary school building.
