ASICS Corporation Head Office East Building
ASICS Corporation Head Office East Building This project entailed the construction of the East Building as an extension to the Head Office of ASICS Corporation located in Port Island, Kobe. As work commemorating 60 years since the foundation of the company, a corporate museum has been installed in the first and second floors, and using the third to fifth floors as Planning and Development Division offices, the layout of each division including the existing Head Office building was reorganized. The exterior appearance is highly transparent, using hanging concrete slabs and full-height window frames. The building has been designed to clearly express the philosophy behind the foundation of the company, "a healthy mind is needed for a healthy body," with a simple frame structure and a skeleton-design interior space. With the offices, importance was given to flexibility and communication, three-dimensionally laying out stairs, balconies and meeting spaces that would induce communication.

AKITA ADAMANT Yokote Plant
AKITA ADAMANT Yokote Plant This work involved the extension of an additional building at a ceramics manufacturing plant in Yokote City, Akita Prefecture. The exterior walls use RC earthquake resisting walls and metallic heat-resistant panels laid out alternately. While giving consideration to proportions, openings have been kept to a minimum, so the facility can be closed off from the exterior during the winter season when there is deep snow. A comfortable interior space has been ensured by using natural lighting from high side lights, and natural ventilation. With clear zoning for processing areas and space on the roof for equipment, a smooth production line and easy maintenance has been realized. While the inorganic and tranquillo façade responds to even the smallest change in the nature (snow, flowers, greenery, light and water), it also vibrantly highlights the landscape. The presence of the simple yet highly-precise building makes an impression in contrast to the surrounding environment.

Okinawa Country Club Clubhouse
Okinawa Country Club Clubhouse This project entailed the rebuilding of the clubhouse of this community-based golf club, which is also the oldest club in Okinawa. The course is the venue for the Okinawa Ladies' Golf Tournament, which is considered a stepping-stone for aspiring professional golfers and has turned out many female professional golfers. Taking the natural environment and landscape into consideration, the façade is configured to make the most of shade and shadow expressions. With deep eaves designed in consideration of the unique strength of the Okinawan sunshine, and other climate-based design elements throughout, the total building design is in harmony with the modern design. The interior has been designed with the concept of "hospitality," and while continuing the traditions and formalities, the building also presents a space for relaxation. The layout has been planned to give a visual feeling of connection with the course, such as the views from the restaurants and baths.

Itsuo Art Museum
Itsuo Art Museum In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of this art museum, "Gazoku Sanso" (Gazoku Mountain Retreat), the former residence of Ichizo Kobayashi, the founder of the Hankyu Toho Group, was newly-constructed and moved to a site adjoining the Hankyu-Gakuen Ikedabunko Library. Giving consideration to the various types of plans for the display room, the design called for a floor plan which would enable people to tour through it. The multipurpose "Magnolia Hall" was newly added, which has been acoustically-designed for events with different reverberation times, such as lectures and concerts. The exterior appearance uses stoneware tiles with a deep expression. With the interior, after passing through the atrium, natural light shines through into the lobby and the elevator hall, giving changes to the space.

RISUPACK Kanto Plant
RISUPACK Kanto Plant This project entailed the construction of the core plant of this food container manufacturer in suburban Isesaki City, Gunma Prefecture. To make the most of the natural environment which includes the "Remains of Jusanpozuka," the facility was designed for symbiosis with the environment. The various production line functions have been laid out so they can be plugged in to the central axis of the conveyance passage, enabling easy zoning during future expansions. The plant has clear sanitary management areas equivalent to the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) of food manufacturing plants, and comprehensive measures are being carried out to ensure the cleanliness level along the production line, protection against insects, and contamination of foreign substances. From the design point of view, a CI design is being used to symbolize the advancement of the company, with pattern designs of motifs of plastic raw materials and products made of plastic used in the internal and external spaces.

Minato Iryo Seikatsu Kyodo Kumiai Hojin Cooperative Association Clinic
Minato Iryo Seikatsu Kyodo Kumiai Hojin Cooperative Association Clinic The construction plans for this project called for a clinic with a day care facility. A wall which can be opened on an angle has been installed at a suitable distance from the clamor of the road. The same configuration has been used for the floor and cross-section plans, offset in a flying geese design, enabling the interior and exterior to be seen between the spaces. While having a simple design, the building provides various spatial experiences. Light enters the interior from the southern side and from high side lights, creating a bright and relaxing space. In the pursuit of a new design style, the building height has been kept down, and the expression of the exposure of the structure gives the feeling of unification between equipment and the structure, and the shape and the functions.
