NIPPON ZETTOC Sagamihara Office
NIPPON ZETTOC Sagamihara Office Located and planned on a former factory land in front of Hashimoto Station on the outskirts of Tokyo, this is a research center and plant for this pharmaceutical manufacturer. As the building borders on commercial and residential areas, consideration for the immediate surroundings was taken by aiming for a pharmaceutical factory that has an urban design. The research and administration building that faces the road was planned in a square formation with the center having a courtyard that facilitates proactive communication between the administrative, research and quality control departments in the galleries that surround the courtyard. Openings have been designed in the exterior walls, consisting of wall columns and wall girders, according to the functions of the internal rooms. This allows fresh air to flow in and exhaustion to flow out into the courtyard, realizing efficient facilities planning. Eaves around the exterior provide shade from the sun and shelter from rain. The stainless steel vertical drains and the level ends of the eaves are designed to form an additional elevation surface adding depth to the building.

Satsuma Denshokan
Satsuma Denshokan This project involved the construction of Satsuma Denshokan, an accommodation facility and multi-purpose hall, constructed in the pine forest around the Japanese inn, Ibusuki Hakusuikan, facing Ibusuki Bay. With the theme of realizing the property owner's desire of "by coming here, Satsuma can be understood," the construction allows for a relaxing time surrounded by artifacts that are one with the flavor of the culture of Satsuma. The exterior blends in with the natural surroundings, using a combination of steel roof trusses and RC construction, allowing for the realization of a clay-tiled large roof and a superb large space under the multi-level, half-hipped roof of the main building. Otemon Gakuin University ShogunYama Hall
Otemon Gakuin University ShogunYama Hall This is Otemon Gakuin University's history exhibition museum. Utilizing the greenery at the far end of the property, an inner courtyard has been constructed, where the sound of the water flowing from the flower bowl vibrating from the building and the wall that envelope the garden, creates a peaceful space. The inner garden is fronted by a fully-open large glass screen that creates a seamless-like connection to a café and terrace. Passage through is also possible, allowing freedom to walk throughout the entire building, and creating a space for communication between the students. In contrast, the exhibition rooms are totally enclosed with stone walls that are punctured with holes through which one can catch a glimpse of the greenery and the inner garden, and sense the atmosphere of the café and lounge.
