TOKYO 2004

This is an office building in the Akihabara redevelopment area, with features including a plan ensuring a highly-efficient standard floor space and a 1.5-level piloti with a deck connecting to the town. The aim was for an architectural design with a high sense of symbolism with the motif of a cube drawn from the shape of the site and the volume limitations. Each exterior side responds to the different city environment, including a road, railway lines and a public square, and an expression rich in change has been created using a grid-based tile and aluminum complex design.
