Space in a dialog with the environment札幌市郊外の豊かな自然に囲まれた敷地に建つ、日本画家・関口雄揮氏の作品を展示する個人美術館である。 (本井 和彦)This is an individual art museum that exhibits the works of the Japanese painter Yuki Sekiguchi, built on a site surrounded by rich nature in the outskirts of Sapporo. Based on the style of Yuki Sekiguchi, a design expression that uses the natural features of Hokkaido as a symbol, that creates an environment in which the rich nature of the surroundings is continuous with the building, both inside and outside were adopted as the design themes. In the design the types of materials used were limited as much as possible to obtain a simple expression, so that the exhibited works would stand out from the surrounding nature, and a simple plane composition was clearly expressed. Using a structure in which steel lattice beams are supported by very slender clean-cut columns, the lounge is a space that is open with respect to the surroundings. The interior resonates with the surrounding green through the use of the steel-framed ceiling and the brick walls, giving a reverberation space so that the works remain in the heart. The exhibition rooms are enclosed spaces with RC wall structure, with indirect lighting and oak flooring creating a place appropriate for exhibiting Japanese paintings.
