今年で開院100年を迎える歴史ある病院の建替えである。歯抜けのように空き地が目立つ宇都宮の街並みに対してあえて低層とし、40ｍのスカイラインを創りだし、新たな街並みを再構築してゆく起点となり得るよう考えた。壁面40ｍを黄金比を用いて分割し、ランダムな開口部を配するデザインとすることによって、宇都宮の伝統を守り、革新を愛する豊饒な精神を象徴するとともに街並みに活気を与えることを狙った。(荻野 喜之)医療法人 親仁会 佐藤病院　Sato HospitalAperture design oriented toward streetscape restructuring街並みの再構築を指向した開口部デザインOwner: Shinjinkai Med. The architect saw this as the opportunity for restructuring of the streetscape of Utsunomiya, which is dotted with vacant lots here and there, by creating a low-rise 40m skyline to serve as the starting point for a new streetscape. The 40-meter wall surface was divided into segments using the golden ratio, and apertures were randomly placed in these segments. The intent of the design was to provide vitality to the streetscape by both preserving the tradition of Utsunomiya and symbolizing its richness of spirit and love of innovation.
