Based on the concept of “Combining fun, learning and discovery!,” the facility is designed to maintain and expand the entertainment quality of Expo ’70. The development offers “edutainment” facilities, commercial establishments and the largest ferris wheel in Japan. Placing the different type of facilities in separate buildings heightens their individuality and is designed to create the vibrancy and sense of scale of a city. The eaves that extend from the open mall are connected to each building to form a walking environment in which people can stroll freely through the site. The extraordinary entertainment experiences offered here will produce an explosion of cultural development in Osaka, and it is hoped that Expocity will become a landmark of Osaka that is beloved worldwide.
