Works08Four nursing units are arranged on a single floor, and in the center of the floors a staff base is provided that includes a stairwell to the floors above and below. In this way a spatial composition that encourages occasional conversation among doctors and nurses from different departments and members of other medical specialists that would normally have little involvement with each other is incorporated into the layout of the new hospital building. Spaces referred to as day niches and staff pits where diagnosis, treatment, and consultation can be carried out are provided among the hospital rooms producing a greater diversity of venues for interaction between the medical staff, patients, and their families, with the aim of providing a hospital layout that achieves true team medical treatment.
