The issues facing a regional city as a result of the decline and transformation of its key industries were dealt with by composing the building itself as a compact city combining commercial, office, and residential space in a station front redevelopment project. Vitality was infused into the area by connecting to the 2F pedestrian deck utilizing the pedestrian network in front of Kokura Station, and reproducing an iconic space surrounded by trees.
