The features of T4 are thorough digitalization, automated check in, the introduction of the most advanced airport functions such as advanced security systems coupled with image recognition, as well as the use of glass screens so as not to isolate into enclosed spaces the immigration and emigration lines, that are the lifelines of airport security. The design has been developed so that it is possible to look down on both areas from the Central Galleria, which consists of an atrium and sky lights on all sides, to achieve a feeling of transparency and openness. Large sky lights with a petal motif are provided at 66 locations in the ceiling, so the natural light that pours down onto the many natural trees and the greenery on the walls allows the passage of time to be felt in a tropical country. There has been a thorough fusion of design and technology so as to provide a feeling of expectation and elation upon arrival, and calm and ease before departure, in contrast to airport terminals that generally tend to be closed.
