It has been realized through many new technologies developed for compliance with Japan’s strict standards for fire resistance and seismic performance, as timber technology rapidly expands worldwide. It is one model to verify the feasibility of medium- and high-rise timber construction in Japan’s urban areas, in order to achieve a sustainable society. The building is to be used as dormitories by several companies, and it is one step towards demonstrating the potential of timber buildings and the comfort of timber to many people, and to change the modern inorganic city landscape into an organic landscape.
