NWorks西千葉に新築した本社屋オフィスである。約30ｍの大スパンの屋根の下には、道端に席が並ぶかの様に、ストリートと同じ床レベルで執務空間を設けている。ワンルームの中に2.0 〜 8.0m に変化する天井高や光の回り方といった質の異なる空間を生み出している。細い木材を編み込んだ繊維質な屋根と壁は、大きな布のようにたっぷりと垂れ、人びとをやわらかに包みこむ。その内側の紙製の空調換気ダクトや吸音材は通気性や音環境を良好にして、ZOZO らしい「着心地の良い衣服のような建築」となっている。(成山 由典）The project is a headquarters office newly constructed in west Chiba. Under a large-span roof of about 30 m, office space is provided with floor level the same as that of the street level, as if the seats were arranged on the side of the road. Within the one room, spaces of different quality are created by the ceiling height that varies from 2.0 to 8.0 m, and how the light circulates.The fibrous roof and walls that incorporate narrow timber members sag as if they were a large cloth, gently embracing the people. Inside them paper air conditioning and ventilation ducts and soundproofing members provide a well-ventilated and good sound environment, resulting in a “building like comfortable clothing”, very much like ZOZO Inc.
