The common parts and each guest building are arranged dispersed and facing towards Mount Yotei, with an internal connecting corridor “linking them while maintaining separation”. In this way, cold region type “guest houses” have been constructed with each unit highly independent, while maintaining the convenience and feeling of unity as a residential facility. The aim was to create a new form of residential facility that merges into the landscape of the locality, with a group of buildings with gabled roofs forming residences like a village.
