N7The Hokkaido Facility Management (FM) Center is the core of Takenaka Corporation's management operations in Hokkaido.The aim was to create a prototype “wellness” office in a subarctic climate. It is a thermally comfortable workplace using a Japanese “ireko” nested box structure. The building includes a Hokkaido-style wooden deck terrace that extends from the inside to the outside as a “co-creation” space.Inside, light, heat, and wind energy from the perimeter outside, along with radiant air conditioning using groundwater, create a microclimate in tune with the rhythm of nature.
