The site is composed of two adjacent lots, on which the two buildings appear to be one. The gaps between the two buildings and the adjacent buildings are taken to be “urban alley spaces”, and there are passageways, external corridors, stairs, elevators, etc., arranged in a multi-layered manner linked to the sloping road running north-south in front. By providing shop frontage along these 3D road spaces, the expressive effect of these shops is increased. The aim was to produce a commercial space that creates a feeling of expectation for what lies ahead and the chance encounters in the urban experience wandering through the alleys.
