NThis is a specialist diabetes clinic forming Phase III of the Shinkashiwa Clinic. It is arranged as the spaces of studios for waiting, exercise, and dietary therapy connected together in accordance with the flow of treatment, surrounded by a garden, so that the waiting space extends both indoors and outdoors. The rainwater flows down from the sloping roof, and flows through gargoyles provided here and there, so that “even rain can be enjoyed”. The collected rainwater forms a temporary pond, so a rain garden that uses the rain forms a healing garden for the patients. By planting many conventional plants that like the waterside, the landscape approaches that which formerly existed, forming a local garden that provides enjoyment and healing not only for the patients, but also for the local residents, and flora and fauna.
