南道市線国国道道号号線線（（御御堂堂筋筋））117766■■荐荐梅田木立−梅田の次の100年の礎Umeda Grove – Foundation of the Next 100 Years in UmedaThis was an urban renewal project to rebuild two buildings, which belonged to two companies that had merged their businesses, and connect them in the space above the road. Urban development that organically connects people, the city, and the building based on the concept of “Umeda Grove” was achieved by utilizing to the maximum extent the major relaxation in floor area ratio of 2000% as a result of the development of public spaces. The vitality of the people spills over into the city level from the 3-level pedestrian network that extends across private and public sector boundaries. Small birds and butterflies are attracted by the organic façade of the department store and the elevated garden in the open space 70 m above ground, where 112 native species of plant from the Yodogawa River system and Rokko Mountain system are planted. The towers rising from the ground express a view of life such as trees, and not that of a pedestal-like building.This urban development initiative by the trio of the building owner, designers, and construction site has realized a building that is the foundation for the next 100 years, bringing the future to Umeda, in Osaka City.
