Park City Musashikosugi is the first building constructed in Japan using design strength Fc150N/mm2 Advanced Performance Composite (APC®) concrete, which combined with structural control devices, has created this 59-story superhigh-rise RC apartment building, the tallest in Japan when it was completed. It has improved productivity and ensured stable frame quality by aggressively introducing precast techniques to construct the building frame along with a variety of other innovations. The award also recognized that to adopt new materials and new technologies, Takenaka carried out the actual construction based on structural testing and construction testing after verifying the new materials and technologies.

At the previous fib Congress in 2010, Takenaka received the same award for designing and constructing Island Tower Sky Club (Higashi-ku, Fukuoka City). Takenaka Corporation is extremely honored that these two buildings that were designed and constructed in Japan have been honored by successive fib Outstanding Concrete Structures awards.
We are confident that these awards will show the world the high level of Takenaka’s technological development, structural design technologies and building construction technologies in the field of reinforced concrete structures. We will strive to continue to improve not only our concrete-related technologies, but also our technologies in all fields.
