Human Rights Policy

The Takenaka Group recognizes that respecting the human rights of all stakeholders involved in our business activities is an important part of our corporate social responsibility. We have therefore established this policy in order to promote efforts towards respecting human rights, and we will ensure that all executives and employees of the Takenaka Group are made fully aware of these efforts.

  1. 1.Commitment to respecting human rights The Takenaka Group will adhere to international standards, including the International Bill of Human Rights (the declaration and the bill), the International Labor Organization's ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, and the United Nations' Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. With these standards as the foundation, we will commit ourselves to respecting human rights. The Takenaka Group will also comply with the laws and regulations of the countries and localities where we conduct business activities. If there is any discrepancy between internationally recognized human rights standards and the laws or regulations of the countries or localities in which we operate, we will seek ways to be in line with the international standards.
  2. 2.Scope of application This policy will apply to all executives and employees of the Takenaka Group, and we will also require that all supplier stakeholders, including their suppliers and subcontractors, who are involved in the Takenaka Group's business or services, support this policy.
  3. 3.Human rights due diligence In order to respect human rights, we will identify problems through human rights due diligence, manage and monitor progress, and continually report and make corrections as necessary.
  4. 4.Corrections and remedies
    1. (1)Corrections
If it becomes clear that any of our business activities have caused or contributed to any adverse impact on human rights, we will work to correct the situation through a fair process.
    2. (2)Access to remedies
In order to identify negative impacts more broadly, and work to prevent and reduce them, we have established and operate a hotline for consultations and receiving reports from both internal and external stakeholders. This hotline will be operated in a manner that people making inquiries do not suffer any detriment such as retaliation.
  5. 5.Dialog with stakeholders We will engage in dialog with relevant stakeholders and outside experts on any human rights issues that are identified, and then endeavor to take responsible action to resolve any such issues.
  6. 6.Education and raising awareness In order to ensure that this policy is implemented in the business activities of the Takenaka Group, we will work to educate and raise awareness among employees as well as strive to promote understanding of the policy among relevant stakeholders.
  7. 7.Information disclosure Each Takenaka Group company will appropriately disclose its efforts and results for respecting human rights on its website and in other places as necessary.
